What We Believe
Below is a summary of what the Meldrums believe, teach, and preach.
- DOCTRINE OF THE SCRIPTURES
I believe in the inerrancy, inspiration, and infallibility of the Holy Scriptures, the Bible; that It was written by men of old under the direction of the Holy Spirit of God in the original texts; that it has been preserved by God for all time; that the King James Bible is the Word of God in English; that the manuscript family commonly known as the Alexandrian texts is corrupt and not a true witness. I further believe that the Bible is the final Authority in all matters of faith and practice.
- DOCTRINE OF GOD
I believe that there is one True God and that He is the Creator and sustainer of all things; that He is eternally existent in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; that He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.
- DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST
I Believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God; that He was Holy Ghost conceived and virgin born; that He was all God and all man, living a perfect and sinless life here on earth; that He died a substitutionary death on the cross and shed His perfect blood as an atonement for the sins of all mankind; that He was raised from the dead and has ascended into Heaven and sits now at the right hand of God making intercession for the Saved.
- DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
I believe in the deity and present ministry of the Holy Spirit; that He convicts sinners; that He indwells, seals, instructs, reproved, and guides the believer; that He fills and controls lives yielded to Him; that he gives power to all believers for the express purpose of winning souls to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- DOCTRINE OF MAN
I believe that man, created in the image of God, fell in Adam’s sin; that he is totally depraved, a sinner by nature and practice and therefore estranged form God; that he is totally lost and unable to save himself; and that he is in need of the convicting and regenerating ministry of the Holy Spirit.
- DOCTRINE OF SIN
I believe that sin was brought into the human world by Adam when Satan deceived Eve and Adam disobeyed God; that the “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” [Romans 3:23] and that “the wages of sin is death.” [Romans 6:23]
- DOCTRINE OF SALVATION
I believe that Salvation is a free gift of God offered to man by His grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that Salvation is not earned by good works nor lost by a believer’s wrong-doing; that God desires that all people be Saved and that the Holy Spirit draws all people to Him; that man can ignore or reject God’s call and thus remain in their sinful and condemned state.
- DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH
I believe that the church is a local called-out assembly of believers gathered for the purpose of glorifying God, edification, and evangelization; that one day all of the people in all of the churches will be called and assembled by Jesus Christ as one Church when He returns; that consistent, faithful church attendance is desired and commanded by God.
- DOCTRINE OF ANGELS
I believe that the angels were created by God to glorify Him; that one third of the angels followed after Lucifer and fell with him and are now demons and evil spirits serving Satan. God’s angels are ministering spirits, sometimes taking on human form.
- DOCTRINE OF THE LAST DAYS
I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ himself is coming again in the air at any moment to Rapture the Saved and to reward their service; that the unbelievers will be left behind and go through a period called the Tribulation; that after the Tribulation Christ will return visibly to the Earth to set up His Kingdom of one thousand years of righteous rule; that after this millennial reign the unbelievers of all ages will stand before the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from god forever; that believers will spend eternity in the fullness of Joy with God forever.
